Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most important questions about psychotherapy.

The Top 5

1. Who is psychotherapy for?

For anyone who feels the desire for change. Whether you are facing a clear challenge or simply have a sense that "something isn't quite right" – both have their place.

2. What happens in a session?

A session offers space for what matters to you. Together, we explore your situation, recognize patterns, and develop new perspectives – at your own pace.

3. How long does therapy take?

As long as it feels meaningful for your process. Some topics resolve within a few sessions, others take more time.

4. What does a session cost?

A 50-minute session costs €75. At present, reimbursement through health insurance is not available, which is reflected in a lower fee.

5. Is the first session binding?

No. It is an opportunity to get to know each other, clarify your concerns, and ask questions – non-binding, but fee-based.

Getting Started & Process

What is psychotherapy?

A scientifically grounded process that supports you in understanding challenges, developing new perspectives, and creating meaningful change.

Do I need to have a specific problem?

No. A sense of uncertainty, dissatisfaction, or a wish for personal growth are equally valid reasons.

What if I don't know what to say?

That is completely fine. A conversation unfolds naturally – often, what truly matters becomes clear along the way.

How often do sessions take place?

This is arranged individually. Typically weekly or biweekly – depending on your situation and needs.

Can I come for just one session?

Yes. Even a single conversation can offer clarity or a valuable new impulse.

Approach & Way of Working

What is systemic therapy?

It focuses on relationships and connections rather than deficits. The emphasis lies on patterns, resources, and developing new, more fitting ways forward.

What distinguishes this approach?

The focus is not on the problem itself, but on what makes change possible. Clear, resource-oriented, and always considering the bigger picture.

Is therapy just talking?

Conversation is central – complemented by perspective shifts, reflective questions, and, where helpful, experiential elements.

Practical Matters

What does "in training under supervision" mean?

Sessions take place exclusively between you and me. The work is reflected upon anonymously and professionally supervised – ensuring additional quality and care.

Do you offer online therapy?

In certain cases, yes. Sessions generally take place in person, but online appointments are possible when needed.

What if I need to cancel an appointment?

Please cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, the session will be charged.

Is confidentiality guaranteed?

Yes. Everything is protected by strict legal confidentiality – including beyond the end of therapy.

How secure is my personal information?

Fully protected. Discretion and trust form the foundation of the work.

Decision & Fit

What if we are not a good match?

That can happen. A good therapeutic relationship is essential – and this can always be addressed openly.

Can I end therapy at any time?

Yes. Therapy is voluntary. A thoughtful closing is recommended, but the decision is always yours.

Is therapy useful even without a crisis?

Yes. Therapy can also be a space for reflection, personal growth, and conscious life development.
